If you still have those silver-colored amalgam dental fillings in your mouth, please save up and prioritize their removal with a biological dentist who follows the SMART protocol!
Why? Because amalgam fillings are roughly 50% mercury and a ticking time bomb – especially if they’re old (and look black)… you can be sure that mercury is off-gassing every time you chew, drink, rub or grind your teeth.
Of course we can detoxify mercury BUT the synergistic effect of different toxic metals is huge!
You can have mercury body burden for decades without any side effects, and then get exposed to lead or aluminum or other heavy metals, and then BAM – you suddenly start to fall apart “for no reason”.
It’s also not uncommon for health issues to start about 6 to 12 months 𝗔𝗙𝗧𝗘𝗥 removing amalgam fillings conventionally (meaning without the SMART protocol). Does this add up for you or someone you know?
…things like tremors, muscle twitches/spasms, loss of balance, vision problems, chronic fatigue, brain fog, anxiety, depression, insomnia, irritability, memory loss, neuropathy (tingling or numbness in your extremities) – to name a few.
And since mercury interferes with the body’s detox processes, it’s also implicated with DNA damage and more serious conditions like cancer, Alzheimer’s, dementia, immunosuppression and autoimmunity.
It’s also a primary cause for stubborn yeast/Candida overgrowth in the body!!
Before I had mine removed, mercury was binding to my vitamin B12 and not allowing it to get into cells where it belongs, which was contributing to hair loss in my case! Its impacts are so widespread.
Now before rushing off to have yours removed, make sure that:
1️⃣ your immunity is strong enough
2️⃣ your detox pathways are open (pooping daily, good sweat and urine function)
3️⃣ you find a dentist who follows the SMART protocol (search IAOMT.org website / in Dubai -> Dr. Roze Dental Clinic )
4️⃣ you follow through with a targeted heavy metal detox
Once the above have been addressed, the next step is to tackle mercury detoxification:
1️⃣Remove the source :
If you have amalgam fillings, make sure steps 2, 3 & 5 below are in order before rushing to have them removed (safely) by a BIOLOGICAL dentist (again, you can find one via IAOMT.org / in Dubai, visit Dr. Roze Dental Clinic).
⚠️Delay targeted detox until they are out.
2️⃣ Ensure detox pathways are open:
This means you need to be pooping, peeing and sweating effectively on a daily basis to ensure toxins are being excreted from the body. Optimize your gut, kidney, lymph systems first.
3️⃣ Support the liver:
Lessen liver burden. For example, eliminate alcohol, processed foods, pesticides, high fructose sugar, and filter your air & water.
Your practitioner may also advise liver supporting herbs like milk thistle, dandelion and burdock root, plus foods like beets and dandelion greens.
4️⃣ Bind/chelate:
Mercury will only be excreted from the body if it is “bound” like a handcuffed criminal.
A practitioner might use more aggressive chelation therapy e.g. DMSA or gentle binders like modified citrus pectin, chlorella, activated charcoal and zeolite clay. Fresh cilantro in the diet can also provide gentle chelation support.
5️⃣ Support glutathione:
Glutathione allows mercury (once bound) to be excreted from the body. This deserves another post, but here are some quick tips to help boost it:
- Exercise
- Foods such as cruciferous vegetables, alliums, avocado, turmeric, vitamin C rich foods, B vitamins, adequate amino acid proteins like cysteine, glycine, glutamine, etc.
⚠️Note: ineffective detoxification can cause released mercury to be redeposited in tissues elsewhere in the body, possibly causing new and even worse symptoms.
So please work with a naturopath or functional medicine practitioner for targeted heavy metal detox support.
